Staten Island native and viral internet sensation CJ has come through with some new music in the form of a single titled “Bop”. This track follows the release of his previous hit single “Whoopty”–a song that has amassed over 140 million views on YouTube and is featured in over a million videos on TikTok. CJ became somewhat of an overnight sensation with “Whoopiy”. Since that release, every social media platform imaginable has been a breeding ground for his virality. With “Bop”, the East Coast rapper revels in his new found success as a hot up and coming rapper. On his Instagram, CJ can be seen being given a ‘Coke Boys’ chain by French Montana. In an interview, he says he’s not signed to Montana’s label, but they are “family”, and will release music together.

In the Alex Demic and Tristan Demic directed music video that accompanies the single, CJ stunts around the streets of Manhattan in a white Rolls-Royce and flexes directly to the camera in a red fur coat–surrounded by his crew and a slew of foreign cars. AN handled the production for the track–delivering a bass heavy drill beat that allows CJ’s catchy flows and hooks to shine. On “Bop”, CJ spits braggadocious bars acknowledging the success of his previous single: “I think they feelin’ my bop now, huh/We on top now/I’m on the strip with the top down (What? What?)”.

With the music video having already raked in a million views in less than 24 hours, it’s safe to say “Bop” is well on its way to being a certified hit. All eyes are on the Staten Island rapper and he plans to take advantage of the spotlight. In a recent interview with Complex, CJ stated that he is dropping an EP soon: “A”. With new music from the NYC rapper on horizon, fans can expect CJ to keep delivering “heat” in the coming months.
