Playboi Carti has officially announced the release date for his long-awaited sophomore effort Whole Lotta Red. Per Carti’s twitter, the album will be released on December 25th of this year. This project was first teased in a live performance of Playboi Carti’s from over a year ago, with Carti telling the crowd, “I’m trying to drop [Whole Lotta Red] in the next 60 days”.

Whole Lotta RedPlayboi Carti has been relatively inactive since his 2018 debut album Die Lit. An album that debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 list and received a number of accolades. Most of his output since that release has come in the form of features. Some of the most notable being his place on Tyler, The Creator’s 2019 track “Earthquake” and Drake’s “Pain 1993” record from the project Dark Lane Demo Tapes (released this year). Carti’s first solo effort since Die Lit was a single that landed on streaming platforms earlier in 2020 entitled “@Meh”. Carti’s first single as a lead artist since 2017.
